The Fast and the Furious (2001)

The Fast and the Furious is a 2001 American action film directed by Rob Cohen and starring Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Rick Yune, Chad Lindberg, Johnny Strong and Ted Levine. The first installment in the Fast & Furious franchise, it follows undercover LAPD officer Brian O’Conner (Walker) who is tasked with investigating street racer Dominic Toretto (Diesel), who is suspected of being a truck hijacker.

The film was released in North America on June 22, 2001. It grossed $207 million worldwide against its $38 million budget, becoming the highest-grossing film of 2001 not directed by Steven Spielberg. The film received mixed reviews critics but was generally praised for its action sequences, acting performances (particularly those of Diesel and Brewster), soundtrack and directing. The film’s success led to two sequels, Fast & Furious (2009) and Fast Five (2011).

2 Fast 2 Furious is a 2003 American action film directed by John Singleton and written by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. It is the second film in The Fast and the Furious franchise.

The film stars Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, Eva Mendes, Cole Hauser, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, and Devon Aoki. In the film, street racers are recruited by the FBI to help them take down a drug lord.

The film was released on June 6, 2003, grossing $236 million worldwide.

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006)

The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift is a 2006 American action film directed by Justin Lin, edited by Chris Morgan, and executive-produced by Neal H. Moritz. The third installment of The Fast and the Furious franchise, it takes place six months after the events of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The film stars Lucas Black, Bow Wow, Nathalie Kelley, Brian Tee, Sung Kang, djimon Hounsou, and Sonny Chiba.

Tokyo Drift is set in the underground world of drift racing in Japanese cities such as Mt. Fuji Speedway and the Touge racing passes. In the film, Sean Boswell (Black) becomes involved in this world to avoid going to jail for street racing in America. While living in Tokyo with his father for a year so that he can complete his high school senior year there, Sean befriends Han Lue (Kang), a fellow drifter with ties to the Yakuza crime syndicate.

After developments occur between Sean’s friend Twinkie (Tee), Drift King Takashi (Chiba), D.K.’s girlfriend Neela ( Kelley), and Han’s Beijing-bound uncle Kamata (Hounsou), a final confrontation between Sean and D.K. takes place on Mount Akina’s touge course.”

Fast & Furious (2009)

Fast & Furious is a 2009 American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Chris Morgan. It is the fourth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Laz Alonso and Sung Kang.

In the film, street racer Dom Toretto (Diesel) falls for cop-turned-convict Brian O’Conner’s (Walker) sister Mia (Brewster), leading him to be recruited by federal agent Luke Hobbs (Johnson) to help bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.

The film was released in the United States on April 3, 2009 and grossed $155 million worldwide.

Fast Five (2011)

Fast Five (2011) is the fifth installment in The Fast and the Furious film series. It features Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Matt Schulze, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Joaquim de Almeida, and Elsa Pataky. The Fate of the Furious (2017) is the eighth film in The Fast and the Furious film franchise. The movie opens up with Dom (Vin diesel) and his crew enjoying their retried life of crime. However, they are soon drawn back into the criminal underworld when a mystical woman named Cipher (Charlize Theron) forces Dom to betray his family and work for her.

The rest of the movie follows Dom’s crew as they try to stop Cipher and figure out why she has convinced Dom to turn against them. Along the way, they are joined by new allies such as law enforcement agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson). The Fate of the Furious was released to mixed reviews but was a box office success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.

Fast & Furious 9 (2020)

Fast & Furious 9 is an upcoming American action film directed by Justin Lin and written by Daniel Casey. It is the sequel to The Fate of the Furious (2017), the ninth main installment, and the tenth full-length film released overall in The Fast and the Furious franchise. The film stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Jordana Brewster, Kurt Russell, and Charlize Theron. In Fast & Furious 9, Dominic Toretto must face Jakob, his evil younger brother who’s out for revenge.

The first film was released in 2001, and the franchise has since expanded to include eight additional films, two short films, a spin-off film and a television series. The movies have been released in chronological order, with the exception of Tokyo Drift (2006), which is set between the events of The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) and Fast & Furious 6 (2013).
