Introduction

It is difficult to argue that Venom is a good movie. It has been widely panned by critics and has a Rotten Tomatoes score of only 32%. However, that does not mean that it is without its redeeming qualities. For example, many people enjoy the comedic elements of the film, and there are some well-crafted action sequences. So, while it may not be a great movie, it is certainly not the worst out there.

The Good

Venom received mixed reviews from critics but was a box office success, grossing over $855 million worldwide. There are several aspects of the film that can be considered good. First, the acting is generally well-done. Tom Hardy, in particular, gives a great performance as Eddie Brock/Venom. Second, the action sequences are exciting and well-choreographed. Third, the visual effects are impressively done and make Venom look like a truly fearsome and powerful creature. Overall, Venom is an entertaining movie that is worth watching.

The Bad

First and foremost, Venom is a bad movie. The acting is terrible, the plot is paper thin, and the CGI is some of the worst that has ever been seen in a major Hollywood release. Venom also suffers from an identity crisis, as it is not sure if it wants to be a dark and serious superhero movie or a campy and humorous one. This would not be such a problem if the movie was actually good, but unfortunately Venom is not.

The Ugly

There’s no denying that Venom is a visually ugly movie. The CGI is poor, especially in the first half of the film, and the action sequences are often choppy and difficult to follow. Even when the CGI is at its best, it’s not particularly realistic or impressive. The film’s color palette is drab and uninspired, and the overall look of the movie is cheap and dated.

The Verdict

It’s not the worst superhero movie ever made, but it’s not particularly good either. Venom is a bit of a mess, but there are moments that are fun and entertaining. However, the bad outweighs the good, and the overall result is a bit of a dud.
