Introduction
Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like there will be a Justice League 2 movie any time soon. While the first movie was a box office success, it was met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike. Moreover, the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding the movie’s production likely played a role in its ultimate downfall. As such, it doesn’t seem like Warner Bros. is interested in making another Justice League movie anytime soon.
The Snyder Cut
The Snyder Cut is the director’s cut of the 2017 superhero film Justice League. The film was directed by Zack Snyder, but he left the project before its completion due to a family tragedy. Joss Whedon was brought in to finish the film, but the result was far from what Snyder had envisioned.
Fans of Snyder’s work were disappointed with the final product, calling it a “Frankenstein’s monster” of a movie. Snyder himself has said that he would like to release his own version of the film, which is rumored to be significantly different from Whedon’s.
Warner Bros. has not yet announced whether or not they will release the Snyder Cut, but there is significant fan demand for it. If Warner Bros. does decide to release it, it is unlikely to be released in theaters, but rather straight to home video or streaming service.
The DCEU
The DC Extended Universe (DCEU) is an unofficial term used to refer to an American media franchise and shared universe that is centered on a series of superhero films, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. The franchise has also expanded to include comic books, short films, television series, and digital series. The shared universe, much like the original DC Universe in comic books and the television programs, was established by crossing over common plot elements, settings, cast, and characters.
The Snyderverse
In May 2017, Warner Bros. officially announced that a Justice League sequel was in development. It is unknown if this film will be part of the DC Extended Universe or the Snyderverse.
The Snyderverse is a term used to describe the shared universe that director Zack Snyder created while working on Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Justice League. This universe is named after Snyder, who served as director and producer for all three films.
While it has not been confirmed if a Justice League sequel will be part of the Snyderverse, it is possible that Warner Bros. could continue this universe with future films.
The DCEU’s Future
