The Hollywood Reporter called the film “a not-so-credible tale of an alien hiding out on Earth”, but Variety said it was “a solid teenpic that should establish star Alex Pettyfer as a genuine box office draw.”

After the destruction of their home world, nine children and nine adults were sent to Earth to hide and develop their Legacies, supernatural abilities that would allow them to fight back when the time was right. But when three of their own are killed, John realizes that he is next.
The first book in the series, I Am Number Four was published in 2010 and was an instant success. It debuted at #3 on the New York Times Best Seller list and was quickly turned into a motion picture by Dreamworks Studios, released in 2011. The second book in the series, The Power of Six, was published in 2011 and also became a bestseller.
With two successful book-to-movie adaptations already under its belt, it’s no surprise that fans are wondering if there will be another movie for I Am Number Four. Unfortunately, as of right now, there are no plans for a sequel. However, with such a popular novel series and fan following, it’s always possible that things could change in the future.

The Plot

The setting
The story of I Am Number Four takes place in the fictional town of Paradise, Ohio, and revolves around John Smith, an alien from the planet Lorien.
On the planet Lorien, each child is given a unique number to protect them from their enemies, the Mogadorians. The Mogadorians are intent on exterminating all of the children of Lorien, so when they destroyed Lorien, nine children and their guardians were sent to Earth to escape them.
Each child has their own special ability, or “Legacy”, that sets them apart from humans. As they come of age on Earth, they begin to develop these abilities. John Smith is Number Four, and his Legacy is the ability to create fire with his mind.
The ending
The ending of I Am Number Four suggests that there could be another movie in the franchise, as John Smith (Alex Pettyfer) is seen running towards a ship that will take him off-world. However, it is not clear if a sequel will actually be made.
The Sequel
At this point, it does not appear that another movie for I Am Number 4 is in development. However, considering the popularity of the first movie, it is possible that a sequel could be made in the future.
Conclusion
After careful consideration, we have come to the conclusion that there is not another movie for I Am Number 4. While we enjoyed the first movie, we do not think that it would be able to sustain another film.
